Our studio expands with the addition of a new team!

Ubisoft Winnipeg joined the XDefiant project in the summer of 2023 and has since collaborated with studios around the world to build this new IP. Our studio is now expanding by adding a team of online programmers to the project. These experts will connect players across platforms for a seamless multiplayer experience, and partner with game designers to develop the future of online gaming.

“Working on XDefiant is a unique experience that lets our team bring together multiple Ubisoft brands in the same project. Iterations and improvements come quickly, and it’s rewarding to see a new online game come together,” says the team’s Production Manager Ben McBride. “Our studio team is incredibly talented and passionate, and we’re all excited to welcome an online services team to make this game the best version it can be for our players.” 

XDefiant is a free-to-play, first-person arena shooter with a selection of factions to suit your play style. With cross-play, the game will allow you to enjoy fast-paced online matches across multiple platforms. 

As Ubisoft pursues its investment in its Winnipeg location, the studio will continue to grow and play a key role in the city’s videogame industry.
